Exercises to Reduce Back Pain After C-Section

Denise ChiribogaC-Section, C-Section Recovery

If you’re postpartum (vaginal birth or after c-section) and are dealing with low back pain, you’re not alone.

Many of us might blame it on our poor posture.
Sometimes we blame it on the epidural.
C-Section moms may wonder if it’s caused by the spinal anesthesia.

Unfortunately research doesn’t make the causation of back pain to the epidural or spinal anesthesia.

BUT THIS DOESN’T MEAN YOU CAN’T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT!!

On the contrary! I’m here today with GOOD NEWS!

Three of the main causes of postpartum back pain after having a baby is:
1. weakened core muscles
2. and lack of glute🍑 strength
3. poor posture.

As busy new moms we find ourselves carrying our babies for much of the day, nursing and feeding them,  lifting heavy things such as car seats and strollers, we find ourselves without the necessary glute and core strength to handle all these tasks and as a result our low back does all the work that our glutes and core should be doing.

So today we’re going to focus on strengthening our deep core muscles and our glutes at the same time in this 20 minute workout.

(Make sure you’ve received clearance to exercise (around 6-8 weeks postpartum your doctor will release you from his/her care)
