For a long time, I didn’t know how to explain why I stepped away from YouTube.
From the outside, it probably looked like burnout… or maybe just life getting busy. And to be honest, that’s what I told myself for a while too.
But underneath that, something else was going on.
I felt off in a way I couldn’t quite put into words. My energy changed. My body felt different. Little things started adding up, and I couldn’t figure out why.
It wasn’t until I started learning more about perimenopause symptoms that things finally started to make sense.
What Happened: Why I Took A Break from YouTube
I had been showing up consistently for years—sharing workouts, helping women feel strong during pregnancy and postpartum, building something I really cared about.
And then… I just didn’t feel like myself anymore.
At first, I thought I was just tired. Maybe I had hit a wall. Maybe I needed a break.
So I stepped back.
But the longer I stayed away, the more I realized this wasn’t just about needing rest. Something deeper was going on in my body—and I didn’t have the language for it yet.
The Symptoms I Couldn’t Ignore
It wasn’t one big, obvious symptom. It was a collection of small things that slowly started to impact how I felt day to day.
My energy felt lower than usual.
I felt more easily overwhelmed.
My body didn’t respond to workouts the way it used to.
I started noticing more aches and pains—things that didn’t quite make sense.
There were moments of brain fog, where I just didn’t feel as sharp or clear.
Individually, none of these felt like a big deal.
But together, they made me feel… off.
Why I didn’t Realize It Was Perimenopauses
No one really talks about this stage in a way that prepares you for it.
I always thought perimenopause was something that happened later—and that it would be obvious.
But this? This was subtle.
It looked like:
- being forgetful and unable to remember words (honestly my husband thought I was getting dementia)
- feeling unmotivated
- getting more injury-prone
- becoming sensitive in my ears, everything felt louder
And honestly, I blamed myself.
I thought maybe I wasn’t trying hard enough.
Or maybe I was doing something wrong.
Perimenopause wasn’t even on my radar.
Perimenopause Symptoms In Your 40’s (What I’ve Learned)
Once I started digging into it, everything began to click.
The shifts in motivation.
The changes in how my body responded to stress and exercise.
The mental fog.
The physical discomfort.
It wasn’t random—it was hormonal.
And more importantly, it’s something so many women are going through without fully understanding what’s happening.
I’m still learning. I’m still figuring out what works for me.
But just having context has already changed how I approach my workouts, my expectations, and even how I talk to myself.
I Thought It Was Burnout…But It Was More Than That
Burnout was part of the picture—but it wasn’t the whole story.
My body was asking for something different.
Not more pressure.
Not more pushing.
But more awareness.
More support.
And a different way of training and living in this phase of life.
That realization shifted everything for me.
Why I’m Coming Back (And What I’ll Be Sharing Now)
I’m coming back to YouTube with a new lens.
Not because I have everything figured out—but because I know how isolating this can feel when you don’t understand what’s happening in your own body.
I want to talk more openly about:
- perimenopause symptoms
- how training changes in your 40s
- what actually helps (in a realistic, doable way)
- and what this phase of life really feels like
Less pressure.
More honesty.
More real-life support.
If You’re Feeling This Too, You’re Not Alone
If you’ve been feeling off…
If your body feels different and you can’t quite explain why…
If you’ve wondered whether it’s just you—
It’s not.
There’s a reason for what you’re feeling.
And even if you don’t have all the answers yet, you’re not alone in it.
