Leg & Butt Workout (At Home With Dumbbells)

Denise ChiribogaFitness, Postnatal Fitness

It was my first training session with a brand new client and I was telling her about how much she would love my Strong Mom & baby group fitness class to help get her out of the house and socializing with other mamas. h

But she was adamant that she wasn’t going to join another group class as she had already tried another mom and baby fitness class that she quit after the first class because it left her feeling unworthy and weak.

You see she was comparing herself to the instructor and to the other moms in the class. As a highly stressed first time mom she couldn’t keep up with the rest of them and she felt defeated. So she refused to go back.

Even though she wasted all that money, she didn’t care, she just didn’t want to feel

weak in front of others who were seemingly capable of more than her at that given time.

It sucks when this happens.

Comparing ourselves with other people.

I know it happens a lot, which is why I am always reminding the moms in my class not to compare themselves with anyone else.

So my client hired me so that she could workout with me from the comfort and privacy of her own home to get strong on her own terms.

For those of you who don’t have a personal trainer train with you one on one and you’ve been doing my videos at home, I applaud you! And I’ve been listening to your comments on my videos.

I’ve been all gung ho with my booty and leg series, that sometimes I forget to slow things down just a little. Which is why I created today’s video, and made the workout a little less hardcore!

This workout is a 20 minute leg and booty dumbbell workout for beginners and for those who are just starting on their fitness journey. You can modify the workout and do without weights too.

I know that you’ll be able to get through this whole 20 minute leg and butt workout today, and remember if it’s getting too hard to continue either put the weights down and keep moving, or take a little pause to catch your breath and then get back to it.

Keep doing what you’re doing mama, and keep your eyes on the prize. (aka your own goals!)
